Another weekend of Betfred League One action is just around the corner, with the action getting underway on Saturday when Oldham travel to Midlands Hurricanes at the Alexander Stadium.
It is also a return to action for Oldham, who are currently unbeaten in 2024’s league competition. They will be hoping to regain top spot this weekend, whilst Midlands will be hoping to back up their emphatic 6-72 win over Cornwall in Round 6.
A win for the Hurricanes would see them move two points within Sean Long’s men in the league table, as they look to record their third win of the season.
Last time out saw Midlands take the two points at Oldham’s Boundary Park in a close contest – the expansion side clinching an 10-18 victory.
The Roughyeds have won all four of their previous away meetings with Midlands Hurricanes, but will they make it five on Saturday?
One team aiming to keep top spot for another week running is the in-form Keighley Cougars. They have the best scoring attack in the league and are currently five wins from five.
Keighley's Junior Sa'u could also be set to make his 300th career appearance on Sunday, as the Cougars will be hoping to continue their extremely strong start. But standing in the way could be Rochdale Hornets, who produced a huge 36-37 win against a third placed North Wales last weekend.
Cornwall’s struggles continued last week as they fell to a heavy defeat against Keighley and still yet to find a point this season. They will make the long trip to Cumbria to face Workington Town, who are looking for their third consecutive win.
Town were defeated in their opening two rounds, but have since revitalised and produced three strong wins on the bounce. Can they make it four on Sunday?
The final game of Round 7 will see Hunslet and North Wales Crusaders go head-to-head in West Yorkshire. Both sides have won three matches this season and are currently level on points, so expect a close contest as they look to distance themselves from other seven teams in the competition.
